Wethere we take backup in DLT or LTO through windows or veritas or Arc serve. I think it can not take backup of Permisson on the folder like if i have add some groups or user on to it, as they are security permission of NTFS. so how these will be managed during backup and restor.
I am not asking of permition of taking backup. I am the administrator I can take full backup. My question is, if in one folder i have added 5 groups with read access and two groups as full access. what if i take backup of whole folder and after that I delete the orignal folder, then restore it from backup tape, should i have to give permission again or it be there.

If there is a folder permission or restriction there is no way a backup software can back up those files. For a backup to be successful, it has to have written access to copy file to the media tape.

You either remove the permission on those folder or set the rules to ignore any files that have permission on them. This will prevent the backup from failing all the time it found a restricted folder.

The permissions should already be set. If not, check them.
